Over gentle ribbons of water,
Floating upon a pool in the sun.
Concerns drift to the surface and beyond.

Water laps upon my breasts and toes
Defining the line between warm and cool
Soothing the aches; letting the mind unspool.

Chlorine permeates my sinuses
Freeing my breathing; burning my nose
Upon the water I am free to juxtapose.

Microcosms, Macrocosms
Tie-dye images of my mind
Fill space, vacuous space.

I lie watching imagery denied to reality.
Only gentle mesmerizing lapping links me to earth.
I am at peace within, and with my rebirth.
