A sunny day as I walk freely home
Through woods I freely roam, I say nothing.

Meet a mob of children I hardly knew
Who pummel me black and blue, I say nothing.

When I lay unmoving upon the soft, leafy ground
They bury me in leaves all around, I say nothing.

Later I awake and remain very still
Until sure they left their kill, I say nothing.

I walk home very slowly, beaten after it all;
To family or friend about how brutal, I say nothing.

Go to school the next day seeing each kid –
Yesterday, what they all did, I say nothing.
